Rewards For Wellness 2026-2027
Overview
Rewards for Wellness is designed to help you become aware of your personal health status and participate in activities to live a healthier life. Complete Rewards for Wellness 2026-2027 activities by December 31, 2026 to earn up to $500 in co-share credit incentives ($700 for those enrolled in the Anchor Plan)*. These credits will be delivered in employee paychecks in the first half of 2027.
The 2026-2027 iteration of the Rewards for Wellness program has maintained much of what has made it so successful over the years, but there are a few newer aspects that are changing:
- NEW FOR 2026 - Greater Wellness Incentives for enrollees in the Anchor Plan* If you are enrolled in the Anchor medical plan, your annual maximum incentives under the Rewards for Wellness program are increasing from $500 to $700. Up to $500 in incentives if enrolled in the Anchor Plus or Anchor Choice plans.
- So many activities! For this year’s iteration of the Rewards for Wellness program, there are close to 30 total activities with $1,075 in incentive credits available for women and $1,025 available for men (the difference is attributable to one additional gender-specific preventive exam being available for women). Employees will have the option to choose which activities they prefer to do in order to reach their goal. Employees are welcome to participate in all Rewards for Wellness activities but may only earn a maximum of $500 in co-share credit. As noted above, those enrolled in the Anchor Plan may earn a maximum of $700 in co-share credit.*
- Earn more with BlueCare Connect! Employees will continue to be able to earn up to $400 in incentive credits just by using BlueCare Connect.
- Wellbeats is back! Wellbeats returns in 2026, now on BlueCare Connect. Wellbeats is a free feature built into the BlueCare Connect experience. Think of Wellbeats as something similar to Peloton classes but without the monthly membership fee and not just limited to stationary bike sessions. It’s much broader in scope and has something for everyone. You’ll even earn BlueCare Connect points to help qualify you for co-share credits under the annual BlueCare Connect points levels.
- 1,000+ online, on-demand fitness, nutrition, and mindfulness classes taught by certified instructors
- 30+ goal-based programs
- 70+ health recipes
- Personalized recommendations and workout plans
- A virtual group feature that lets you invite friends to scheduled classes
- Selections that are suitable for all ages, abilities, and interests
- Quarterly step challenges! In 2026 there will be a step challenge every quarter: February, May, August, and November. You’ll even earn BlueCare Connect points to help qualify you for co-share credits under the annual BlueCare Connect points levels.
- Attend a State employee wellness fair! The State employee wellness fair events are currently scheduled for March through early May. Get your biometric screenings and meet with health professionals as well as benefits vendor representatives.
* If you are a member of one of the following groups, your wellness incentives are not changing for 2026. Maximum incentive credit remains at $500.
- Council 94 Local 2877A Maritime Professional Association
- Council 94 Local 2877 Professional Technical Administration Association - URI

Certain preventive screening procedures are covered at 100% (no member cost-sharing) by federal mandate. If you meet the age and frequency guidelines established by the United States Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) and receive a colonoscopy, mammogram, pap smear, PSA test and/or a bone density test in 2026, you’ll receive a $50 credit for each screening you receive. The incentives for these screenings are in addition to the incentive for your annual preventive exam.

- PSA screening
- Bone density
- Your receipt of a qualifying preventive screening will be automatically tracked by BCBSRI through claims activity.

You can navigate to this page from either the “Benefits” tab or by clicking the “See Ways to Earn” section under Your Rewards.
It’s been said that the eyes are a window into the soul – but they are also a window to your well-being. Whether you have 20/20 vision or need glasses to see clearly, an annual eye exam can help to catch and prevent both eye and non-eye related issues and diseases.
The obvious benefit of an eye exam is to help detect and treat vision problems, most commonly near-sightedness and far-sightedness. In addition to correcting vision, an annual eye exam can help detect, diagnose and treat eye disorders, like glaucoma, cataracts, dry eye disease and age-related macular degeneration. Eye exams can also help determine and diagnose various other health problems in the body. By monitoring changes in eyesight and the eye, doctors can catch signs for a variety of conditions including diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, thyroid eye disease and malignant eye melanoma.
To earn $50 in co-share credit
- Use your VSP or BCBSRI coverage and have a routine eye exam anytime during 2026.
- The exam will be tracked automatically through your VSP or BCBSRI claims activity.
To verify completion of the eye exam activity, log into your account at www.vsp.com or BlueCare Connect (depending on which coverage you used) and review your claim history for a routine eye exam during 2026
Influenza is a potentially serious disease that can lead to hospitalization and sometimes even death. Every flu season is different, and influenza infection can affect people differently, but millions of people get flu every year, hundreds of thousands of people are hospitalized and thousands to tens of thousands of people die from flu-related causes every year. An annual seasonal flu vaccine is the best way to help protect against flu. Vaccination has been shown to have many benefits including reducing the risk of flu illnesses, hospitalizations and even the risk of flu-related death in children.
To earn $75 in co-share credit
- Simply get a flu shot anytime during 2026.
- You can get your flu shot at your physician’s office, many pharmacies, a State-sponsored flu shot clinic (more information below), or perhaps from your employer
- BCBSRI will automatically track flu shots received at a state-sponsored clinic, your provider’s office, or a local pharmacy. However, if you receive your flu shot from your employer because it is required for your job, a signed Verification Form - Flu Shot must be emailed to BCBSRI at the email address indicated on the form.
The State will be hosting a series of flu shot clinics throughout the fall of 2026 to make flu shot access even easier. Please visit the Flu Shot page for more details on when and where these clinics will be held, as well as guidance for required online registration.
To verify completion of the flu shot activity, log into your account at www.caremark.com or BlueCare Connect (depending on which coverage you used when you obtained your flu shot) and review your claim history for a flu shot during 2026.
If you received your flu shot through your employment and did not use your BCBSRI or CVS coverage, you should have a copy of the Verification Form - Flu Shot that you emailed to BCBSRI pursuant to the above guidance.
